Jun 26 What I Learned This Week
This past week was another whirlwind. It seems like Monday through Sunday flies. Before I know it, it’s Wednesday. Blink twice and it’s Friday. Sneeze with my eyes closed and it’s already Sunday evening! What the what?!?!?! Trying to keep up with the days during COVID-19 is harder than ever before. It’s all good though because I’m getting a few nuggets to add my to my pond of wisdom. Here’s what I learned this week:
Apple Activity Circles are All Important

So, if you're my friend on Facebook or follow me on Instagram you'd know that I'm back in a relationship with the Insanity Workout. This time it's a committed relationship. As of today, I have not missed a workout Yay me! I chose the program because it's fun to me and has fast, great results. Well, I've never done it with a heart rate monitor (I'd have to count my pulses) until now using my Apple Watch. As I workout or stand regularly during the day or even just employ more movement, it tracks it. I knew this part.
What I didn't know was that not completing the circles for standing, movement and workout meant I wasn't burning enough calories to lose weight faster. Based on the circles, if I complete all 3 I will have killed about 700 calories that day. Subtract that from all the veggies and fruit that I gorge on (plus the random cookie and meats I put in my mouth) aka my total calories digested that day I should be on a weight loss slip-and-slide.
The lesson for you: Close every circle on your Apple Activity app. Don't have one? Make sure that you know how many calories you need to eat each day, the number of calories you'd burn if you power walked 30 minutes and did HIIT workouts for 30 minutes and you too can get sexy back like I've never had. Oh yeah, don't forget to stand for a minute once an hour or once every 30 minutes. Discover more here.
Btw, you can set your daily calorie burning goal on the app to whatever you choose. (To lose a pound of weight/fat in a week [safely], you'd need to burn about 500-1000 calories from your daily calorie intake each day.)
